Harry and Terry's Wedding Ceremony
Despite trying to keep the guest list limited, there were about 60 people in Alice Boot's backyard for the commitment ceremony. The garden is decorated in Gryffindor autumn colours, red and gold, and the weather is accomodatingly brilliant. The wedding party, aside from the two grooms, consists of Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Neville Longbottom for Harry, and Terry's sisters Charlotte and Rachael. Charlotte's son Nate carries the rings, which makes some people a little nervous, but he comes through brilliantly and manages to not get distracted by the presence of Tango.
It's a somewhat unconventional ceremony: Alice gives away her son, and Sirius his, and the boys have each written their own (incredibly sappy) vows. The whole thing is officiated by Dumbledore, who seems quite pleased to be there.
The reception is a late afternoon tea served in the back garden as well; mostly cake and biscuits and finger sandwiches, with a bit of champagne for a toast (given by Ron, who is very red at the time). Eventually the guests sent off the newlyweds on the back of Harry's flying motorbike.
Terry's father was at the ceremony lurking in the back, but left before the reception got underway. Also present were Terry's entire family except for his last sister, Ann-Marie; Remus; Hilary Hayley (the Auror who supervises Harry), Healer Ian Soley; and a number of friends, former classmates and teachers.

Hello! This is Chris, aka Narcissa!mun, and for some reason I've agreed to take over playing Draco, as his player is leaving to concentrate on a teaching career or some real life rubbish like that. ;) On the good side, as I've been here since nearly the start of the game I don't have to worry about catching up on history and characterization and such, but even so I'm not David and will undoubtedly have to contort into uncomfortable shapes in the process of acquainting myself. So please bear with me.

For those still at Hogwarts, there will be a Leaving Ball and Feast NEXT SATURDAY which will go off without a hitch because with Harry Potter gone there is no point in attacking Hogwarts. The House Cup will be awarded and the Hogwarts Express will fetch them all away on Monday.

Jess and I are off to a ren faire for the weekend starting this afternoon. I'm not worried about leaving this game modless, it pretty much just goes happily along by this point, but if anything does come up, consult Jair (Percy/Neville!mun), who can usually solve things, and if not, has my mobile number. *g*
(He also doesn't know I've left him in charge. Hee!)

We expect everyone is going to be gone reading Book 6 this weekend and not much will go on. Now, when book 5 came out, some of us had to take refuge here from the pain and hide in our happy little HPland, so we are not going to close the game for the weekend or anything, but on the other hand, your friendly neighbourhood mods are going camping with their books and will not be around. So nothing big and plot-related is going to happen this weekend; feel free to play if you want to and otherwise don't worry about it. :)
(...I just realised my Lutheranism is showing again. 'Eh, do what you want. Play it by ear. We won't make you.' Yeah. Hee.)
Anyway, Jess and I will be around until tomorrow afternoonish and be back about Monday morning. Everyone have a good weekend! Enjoy the book!

Students who want to be in on it are heading for Honduras tomorrow--Sinistra will post a schedule, but essentially, while it's a school trip, there should be lots of time for general getting into mischief, which you ought all take full advantage of and play with. :)

1. The Malfoys are currently in the market for a nanny for the twins. If anyone is interested in the job, either for a character they're already playing or if you'd like to make up a new one, get in touch with Lucius and/or Narcissa. (If you want to make up a new character for it, please run that by me as well, so we can get you set up.) If nobody wants to do it, they'll get set up with an NPC.
2. Professor Sinistra wants to take 5th through 7th year Astronomy students (which is all our students currently in play) to Honduras for an Astronomy field trip. If you take the class and want to go along, just speak up. If you want to have any problems--failing another class, not getting the permission form signed, etc--that's a chance to RP too. In the end, about mid-July Real Time they'll go on the trip, and because it is Astronomy, you will all have most of the day time to run around on the beach sightseeing and causing mayhem and havoc.
3. There have been a few more small crimes stopped by the English Wizards' Defense League. Some of your characters may want to be involved in, or may know family or friends involved in, the League. So far it's just looking like a Neighbourhood Crime Watch sort of thing and not causing any problems. So far. ;)

So, those who are a part of pureblood families, invites for the annual Malfoy New Years Eve party might or might not have already gotten their invites. As Narcissa doesn't have the energy to spend hours writing them up each day, they are going out in the order of those in those who are close friends with the Malfoy's/those that Lucius is working on to get stuff passed in the legislation on down. The farther out they are, the longer it would have taken. Alice Boot would have gotten her invite rather quickly, the Parkinson's probably won't get theirs until the last minute.
All invites will be out by December 30th
The party is going to be a Masquerade theme, masks are required! The dominant color thems will be gold, purple and blue, with red velvet benches set up in some more-private seating areas created by hanging fabrics. There will be a live orchestra, and a troop of Comedia del Arte-like players wandering around entertaining before dinner, while waiters bring by trays of red wine and
beef carpaccio on croutons as appetizers.
When dinner is served, the seating is pre-assigned. Like the invites, the better terms you are with the Malfoy determines the better seats. Alice will be decently close to the head table, while the Parkinsons will be at the far end of the room in the last seats.
Dinner will be:
First Course:
Squash soup
Main Course:
Roast Leg of Lamb with Fennel Butter
Cornmeal and fig cake with pine nuts
Sweet and Sour Swiss Chard with Dried Currants
and a small slice of foie gras
Dessert:
Marsala and Mascarpone Mousse with Pound Cake and Berries
After dinner, space will be cleared for dancing and of course, as midnight the masks willl come off. Lucius will spend most of the evening chatting people up, like everything else, the more important you are, the more face time you get. He'll probably try to coax at least one dance out of Narcissa though, something slow though, given her condition. Narcissa will spend part of the evening introducing Alice Boot to various single and widowed wizards who might make a good second husband when the time is right.
There is no planned scandal. We'd really like it if everyone avoided the scandal, because there has been more than enough of that in the pureblood circles this year.
As a general note; pretty much most Pureblood family's with decent standards of living will be invited (ie yes the Crabbes, no to the Weasley's). The Malfoy's throw their parties big :D

Sorry, am too busy at the moment to get presents or responses to presents up for a while, but they will be done...er...sometime...but in the meantime, I did set some things up with Narcissa!mun, chiefly that Draco was going to be at the Manor all Christmas, so I don't know how that affects Lucius' letter and whatnot, considering that Draco was actually in the house, and he'd be somewhat miffed that his father had to send him a letter from another room!
Anyway, will try and do Christmas presents when I get a chance.

I intended to be online tonight for the Parkinson party but a friend from out of town and a great deal of alcohol conspired against me. A short summary for those who attended and gossip later on.
The party was high-class and boring mostly. A live band played absolutely nothing interesting most of the night. Pansy and her two older brothers, William and Christopher, were in attendance as the charming and attractive scions of the Parkinson house.
About two thirds of the way through the expected length of the party, an apparently very drunk Pansy breaks off a conversation with Christopher with a laugh and a very loud pronouncement of "just remember, darling, you asked for it." She calls for the band to change their tune and proceeds to do a strip tease for him and William. It probably gains global attention by the time she's shucked the outer robe and her first layer of already plenty scandalous underrobes. She finishes up by casting Finite Incantatem on herself and revealing a great deal of scarring (on the same level as her arm had when she was getting her tattoo) and making out heavily with Christopher. Her parents flip out. Her brothers duck out of the party really quickly. And Pansy gets about thirty seconds to say "he asked for it" before her parents throw her out of the house for good. At this point she's mostly naked and no longer a Parkinson.
William and Christopher return after a little while to trash Pansy's character, join their parents in denouncing her a sick, sick person and a slut and no kin of theirs. All in all they manage to smooth things over by being golden boys who have never been in trouble before. Pansy is gone from the estates and no where to be found.
Now, go forth and gossip.

Pansy's father's birthday will be held this coming Saturday evening. Should your character be likely to be invited, assume that an invitation was recieved. Certainly all three Malfoys, Terry and Harry and any ministry officials would have been invited.

So. I'm back. Perhaps this time to stay, who knows.
For those of you that don't know me (and those of you that had forgotten me) I'm Ana. I play Charlie. Have played Charlie, since...long long long ago. In a galaxy far far...anyway.
I'm attempting another return to the game, this time hopefully to get involved a little more than the last several times. My work schedule is rather nasty and conspires against me to not only keep me away from the computer, but exhausted when I am at it, so if I don't IM you to start a scene and you'd like to play with me, do please poke me! I don't bite (well, not hard at least), I'm generally friendly though I may whine at you about how crappy my day has been, and I like to rp. If you get ahold of me and I'm not up for it, I'll do what I can to actually schedule an rp with you for a time when I'm not. I work in a call center, dealing with pissy customers, slow systems, and annoying sales reps all day, and my brain is normally rather fried by the time I get home, so have a little patience with me. I will likely start seeking people out for scenes once I get back into the swing of things, but I'm rather lost, plot-wise, not to mention that there are unfamiliar journals floating around now so I'm a bit overwhelmed.
